J900-2 Wooden Tripod
The J900-2 Wooden Tripod is a short version of the J100-2 Tripod. The J900-2 is the same as the A900, except the platter is 4 inches so it can be used with the Ries J Series Tripod Heads. The J900-2 has a maximum height of 31 inches/ 79 cm and has a minimum height of 12 inches 31 cm. The J900-2 has a crown size of 4 inches/10 cm is for long lens digital cameras with digital backs, professional video cameras, and 4×5, 5×7 and l 8×10 cameras up to 55 pounds/ 25 kg. The J900-2
Can be very versatile when used with the A700 Extension Legs. This will create the Ries J100-ST Wooden Tripod.
J Series Wooden Tripods feature the Tri-Lock mechanism making them the most stable tripod in the industry. They are made standard from Eastern Hard Rock Maple or custom made from one of our Special wood selections.
The J900-2 is available with 1/4″-20 or 3/8″-16 mounting screws.
All Ries Tripod’s and Ries Head’s aluminum hardware are coated with our new advanced ceramic coatings, the Phalanx TFC Hoplon Ultra.
The J900-2 weighs just 8 pounds/3.6 kg. Optional bronze knobs are available for an additional $, and add one 3/4 pound/.34 kg to the total weight. Tripods come with the traditional Ries Star Knobs. The A Series Head is recommended for use with this tripod. Maximum camera weight is 55 lbs / 25 kg, when used in conjunction with an A Series Head.

All Performances are based on Ries models manufactured after January 2014 when the Ries factory converted from cast aluminum to the current wrought 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. Though similar in appearance to the older cast aluminum the older Ries models are not rated to the same specifications as our newer models.
