The A100-ST Wooden Tripod with extension legs removed only stands 30 inches / 76 cm tall,
but when paired with the A700 extension legs, which are Included, it creates a tall tripod that can stand 120 Inches / 304 cm.
This combination provides the user with a wide range of options. Whether you are photographing over fences or brush to taking low perspective angle shots, this little big-rig has got you covered.
This elevated stature set on the ground works great when the photographer is standing on the tailgate of a pickup truck. This provides independent support without any vibration. Several landscape and storm chaser photographers have had great success taking photographs in this manner because of the quick setup, elevated perspective, and configuration versatility.
When the A700 is attached but fully retracted then the tripod is at normal eye level height. This is the ideal tripod for tall people that want their camera at eye level.
Whether you are photographing a macro of an Arctic Lichen, or the Mosta Cathedral over the heads of a large crowd, this does it all.
The A100 Wood Tripod with a crown size of 6 inches/15.24 cm is for long lens digital cameras with digital backs, professional video cameras, and 8 x 10 and larger format cameras up to 88 pounds / 40 kg. Ries A Series Wood Tripods feature the Tri-Lock mechanism making them the most stable tripod in the industry. They are made standard from Eastern Hard Rock Maple or custom made from one of our Special wood selections.
The A100-ST is available with 1/4″-20 or 3/8″-16 mounting screws. With the standard anodized aluminum knobs the A100-ST without the A700 Extension Legs weighs just 7 pounds / 3.44 kg and 12 Pounds with the A700 Extension Legs attached.
Optional bronze knobs are available for an additional $96, and add one (1.5) pound/.55 kg to the total weight. Tripods come with the traditional Star Knobs, but you can request the Radial Knobs if they are preferred.
Our tripods are specifically made from “tone woods” or AKA; “tonewoods”, (look it up).
All Performances are based on Ries models manufactured after January 2014 when the Ries factory converted from cast aluminum to the current wrought 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. Though similar in appearance to the older cast aluminum the older Ries models are not rated to the same specifications as our newer models.

The A250 Double Tilt Head
The A250 Tripod Head is designed to accompany any A Series Tripod with the most versatility. It accommodates infinite 90° adjustment from vertical to horizontal and also allows a 15° tilt from left to right.
The A250 Tripod Head with a crown size of 6 inches / 15.24 cm, is designed for professional video cameras, 8 x 10 and larger format cameras up to 88 pounds / 40 kg. The A250 comes standard with Black aluminum knobs, but can be ordered with Bronze knobs for an additional $20. It is available with 1/4″-20 or 3/8″-16 mounting screws and weighs 4.75 pounds / 2.15 kg. The mount between the tripod and head or the head and the camera can be ordered with different sizes. If you have multiple cameras with different size mounting screws, an extra screw can be ordered separately and is easily interchangeable.

The A801 Bag
The A801 is designed to carry a A100 or J100-2 Tripod with a head attached. All of our bags are made of durable, weatherproof cordura on a sturdy but lightweight frame of PVC plastic, and are lined with fleece. All cases are monogrammed with our logo and come with full-length zipper and both hand and shoulder straps.
