The A100-ST is one of the most versatile tripods we make.  By itself it only stands 30 inches / 76 cm tall,

but when paired with the A700 extension legs, which are Included, it can stand 80 Inches / 203 cm.

This combination provides the user with a wide range of options.  Whether you are photographing over fences or brush to taking low perspective angle shots, this little big-rig has got you covered.

This elevated stature set on the ground works great when the photographer is standing on the tailgate of a pickup truck.  This provides independent support without any vibration.  Several landscape and storm chaser photographers have had great success taking photographs in this manner because of the quick setup, elevated perspective, and configuration versatility.

When the A700 is attached but fully retracted then the tripod is at normal eye level height.

The A100 with a crown size of 6 inches/15.24 cm is for long lens digital cameras with digital backs, professional video cameras, and 8 x 10 and larger format cameras up to 88 pounds / 40 kg. Ries A Series Tripods feature the Tri-Lock mechanism making them the most stable tripod in the industry.

A100-ST at Maximum Height

The A100-ST is available with 1/4″-20 or 3/8″-16 mounting screws. With the standard anodized aluminum knobs the A100-ST without the A700 Extension Legs weighs just 7 pounds / 3.44 kg and 12 Pounds with the A700 Extension Legs attached.

Optional bronze knobs are available for an additional $96, and add one (1.5) pound/.55 kg to the total weight.

The A Series Head is recommended for use with this tripod. Maximum camera weight is 88 lbs / 40 kg, when used in conjunction with an A Series Head.   Custom orders are always welcome.  Special Wood selection is considered a custom which can take an additional 2-3 weeks for delivery.
